Who we are

We started CARAMANO because we believe that people who work with their hands deserve better products. Most skincare isn’t designed for a rock climber, an artist, or a mechanic. It isn’t engineered for people who are intentionally rough on their hands, and we felt there was a massive gap between what was on the shelf and what was actually needed in the shop.

When we develop a formula, we start with the person, not the product. We look at the specific 'stresses' of a trade or a hobby—whether that's the drying chalk of gymnastics or the scratches and splinters of a wood shop—and we design backward from there. It’s a dedicated process: if a balm doesn't perform to a professional standard, it doesn't leave our shop.

Our approach is pretty simple, though it’s surprisingly rare in skincare—we don’t want more for the sake of having more. We don’t develop new products just to have more in our storefront. We don't put a single drop of an ingredient in a formula just so we can put it on the label. If we use an ingredient, we use enough to actually make a difference.

What’s Next?

Right now, we are focused developing our core balms—each a specific product for a specific kind of recovery. We believe in our backward design philosophy, constantly thinking about who our customers are and what they need next. If there’s a specific challenge your hands and skin are facing or an idea that you would like to see us develop, we’d love to hear about it.
